What can you take for a bruised spine/back pain?

My roommate hurt her back by getting flipped over a couch and landing diagonally on her spine on the arm of the couch… it’s a university dorm so the arms are just wood. Anyway, she’s wondering what she could do to treat this since she won’t have access to physio for another week.

Ibuprofen is always good for pains like this, but it will only be temporary and might not even do the job. I recommend she go see a Chiropractor, they spend the majority of their time in school learning about the spine and how to correct problems. Often they can see somebody really quickly too.
